The Winds: The Nutcracker

Dance along with the sugar plum fairies as you and your little ones discover the woodwind family! This sweet and magical holiday performance will create enchanting winter memories as the flute, oboe, French horn, clarinet and bassoon bring the tale of Tchaikovsky’s dreamy Nutcracker to life. Tiny Tots Concerts are designed for ages 0 to 5. EXTEND YOUR EXPERIENCE: Join us 30-minutes before the performance for fun and interactive pre-concert activities that include an instrument zoo, a percussion play area and a fun craft in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.

Jeffrey Barker


A Seattle native, Jeffrey Barker is beginning his new position as Associate Principal Flute of the Seattle Symphony in the 2015–2016 season.

Mary Lynch


Mary Lynch joined the Seattle Symphony as Principal Oboe in 2014. She previously held the position of Second Oboe with The Cleveland Orchestra and has toured internationally with both The Cleveland Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Eric Jacobs

Clarinet-Bass Clarinet

Eric Jacobs is the newly appointed Clarinet and Bass Clarinet of the Seattle Symphony. Prior to joining the Symphony, Jacobs was based in Los Angeles pursuing an active career as a chamber musician, orchestral musician and new music advocate.

John Turman


Prior to becoming a member of the Seattle Symphony, John Turman was awarded the position of principal horn of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in the spring of 2015.

Danielle Kuhlmann


Praised by The New York Times for her fearless and seductive playing, Seattle native Danielle Kuhlmann returns home to join the Seattle Symphony after a three-year tenure with the San Diego Symphony.

Dana Jackson


Dana Jackson, a native of Seattle, Washington, is a member of the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra in Seattle, and the Santa Barbara Symphony. She is a freelancer up and down the West Coast and performs regularly on movie, tv, and commercial soundtracks. Ms. Jackson is also a director of the Archipelago Collective, an annual summer chamber music festival on San Juan Island, Washington.
