The Seattle Symphony plays chamber music by Alexandra Gardner and Beethoven! Join musicians from the Seattle Symphony as they perform Composer in Residence Alexandra Gardner’s String Quartet, Coyote Turns, paired with Beethoven’s celebrated Septet in E-flat major, bringing together mysticism and symbolism, as well as playfulness and creative spirit across time and space.

Violinist Brittany Boulding has appeared as soloist with the Auburn Symphony, Cascade Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Sinfonietta, Orquesta de Camara Concierto Sur (Cuba), Pacific Northwest Ballet and Spoleto USA.

Kathleen Boyer

Second Violin

Kathleen Boyer joined the Seattle Symphony in 1985, moving to third chair, second violin, in 1994.

Mikhail Shmidt

First Violin

Born in Moscow, Russia, Mikhail Shmidt began his musical education at age 5 and won the Concertino Prague at age 14.

Timothy Hale

Viola

Timothy Hale earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Performance Certificate from the Yale University School of Music.

Sayaka Kokubo

Viola

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kokubo joined the Seattle Symphony in 2007.

Eric Han

Cello

Korean-born Canadian cellist Eric Han made his concerto debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14.

Clarinet-Bass Clarinet

Eric Jacobs is the newly appointed Clarinet and Bass Clarinet of the Seattle Symphony. Prior to joining the Symphony, Jacobs was based in Los Angeles pursuing an active career as a chamber musician, orchestral musician and new music advocate.

Paul Rafanelli

Bassoon

Over more than 20 seasons with the Seattle Symphony, bassoonist Paul Rafanelli has performed frequently on the orchestra’s Chamber series.

Mark Robbins

Horn

Mark Robbins is Associate Principal French Horn with the Seattle Symphony. He performs as Principal Horn with Seattle Opera, including playing the horn calls for Wagner’s Ring cycle.
